OrquIDea.

A mobile-first community for observing, photographing and documenting Mexico's wild orchids responsibly. Build a life list, help identify records, join seasonal challenges and contribute useful observations without publishing exact sensitive localities.

If the custom app domain does not load, use the current beta deployment: orchid-map-oaxaca.lovable.app.

Observe · photograph · document · never collect
01 · Record

Document what you find.

Photograph wild orchids, create observation records and build a personal life list without turning field discovery into a collecting incentive.

02 · Identify

Community identification.

Discuss sightings, suggest taxa and agree on identifications so records improve through participation rather than a single opaque decision.

03 · Protect

Locations are treated as sensitive data.

Public map and feed behavior is designed around server-side location masking. Sensitive records should never depend on hiding coordinates only in the interface.

Conservation first.

OrquIDea is deliberately designed for responsible observation. Leaderboards emphasize diversity and verified participation rather than raw sighting volume, reducing incentives to repeatedly disturb accessible plants.

No rewards for collecting. The app is for observation, photography and conservation records. Exact localities of sensitive orchids are not intended for public disclosure.

A bridge between community and conservation.

OrquIDea complements Orchidarc's digital herbarium and field monitoring. The project is currently focused on Mexico, with Spanish-language mobile use at its core. AMO — Asociación Mexicana de Orquideología — is a confirmed partner society in the project context.

The application includes a Mexican orchid catalog, community sightings, maps, challenges, society spaces, and a confidential illegal-trade reporting route. Public access must preserve the project's location-masking and privacy rules.
